Planning a destination wedding? If you haven’t considered Oaxaca, Olivia + Bryant’s nuptials are sure to impress you and your guests. “We wanted our guests to go on vacation with us,” says Olivia. After landing on the perfection location at Cardenal Social, Xanath Banuelos and Luis Salas Floral Experience made sure their adventurous spirit and elegant style was right at home with Oaxaca’s vibrant art and culture. Hear their story below as you scroll through all the details captured by 100LC guide member, photographer Chucho Potts—including some seriously incredible giant flowers, a parade in the streets, and lush tented reception:
Olivia wore a stunning Oscar de la Renta gown embroidered with textured florals throughout.
Olivia + Bryant’s Oaxaca Wedding
XB Destination Weddings explains, When we first met Olivia & Bryant, it was clear they were seeking a unique concept for their destination wedding—something that would not only celebrate their love but also create a memorable travel experience for their closest friends and family. Their priorities were clear: exceptional food and cultural richness. After exploring several options in Mexico, Oaxaca emerged as the perfect place, perfectly reflecting the couple’s sophisticated taste and adventurous spirits.
The design process was centered around the bride’s love for earthy tones and understated elegance. After blending Olivia’s ideas with Oaxaca’s traditional art and incorporating a delicate floral design by Luis Salas, the result was the serene aesthetic we were looking for. Olivia’s refined taste and very happy presence inspired us to incorporate Oaxaca’s spirit animals into the stationery, adding a touch of local culture to the overall design.
Real flowers or faux? How about both?! This giant floral installation added a touch of whimsy to the already colorful fresh arrangements below.
On Choosing The Venue
Olivia explains, It took us a year to plan our wedding, the majority of that time was deciding on the location. We were exploring venues in New England, Portugal, and Mexico. We were looking for a wedding venue that focused on guest experience: walkable to all events, 30 minutes from the airport, safe, and fun nearby activities for adults and kids during the non-wedding event times. We wanted our guests to go on vacation with us and explore and travel the way that we do. When we visited Oaxaca we immediately knew it was our perfect wedding location.
Olivia’s bridesmaids all wore different dresses in soft sage green hues, mixing solids and prints. So pretty for spring!
One more shot of these giant flowers, because, well, look at them!!
The Entertainment
Entertainment was meticulously planned to leave a lasting impression. The welcome party featured a local band that kept guests on their feet all night, while a 50-member performance ensemble paraded with the guest from the ceremony through to the reception. The grand finale was a versatile band flown in from the US, delivering the best of American music and ensuring the dance floor was never empty.
The tent installation was designed to make guests feel at home while allowing the venue’s natural beauty to take center stage.
Oversized pleated lampshades as wedding lighting… love!
We think it’s safe to say that their guests had a blast “on vacation” in Oaxaca! Congratulations, Olivia + Bryant!
